Letter: Rising rivers caused by man-made dams, not climate change

To the Editor:

“Climate change may be affecting inland bridges,” Scott McFetridge of The Associated Press said. This is the reason the Red Bridge in Des Moines needs to be raised more than 4 feet.

Rivers have always flooded. Scott in his article would have you believe “man-made climate change” has made the river rise so drastically in the past decade or so.

Personally, I believe “man-made dikes and dams” play a bigger role in the rivers rising than climate change does. Restricted water will rise.
