High school boys golf roundup: Crystal Lake South edges Hampshire

Griffin Coakley carded a 4-over 39 Tuesday at Crystal Lake Country Club to lead Crystal Lake South to a 160-168 victory over Hampshire in a Fox Valley Conference dual.

John Lishchynsky and Will Stewart each shot 40 and Ricky Falbo was one stroke behind to round out the scoring for the Gators.

Mark Spitzer and Craig Bracke each turned in 40s to top Hampshire, while Alex Korabik (43) and Bobby Stephenson (45) also scored for Hampshire.

Dundee-Crown 162, Crystal Lake Central 170: At Bonnie Dundee in Carpentersville, the Chargers picked up a FVC triumph by a 3-over 39 from Matt McQuillen.

The Chargers followed McQuillen with a trio of 41s from Josh Zahara, Jake Zirlin and Alex Matsas.

Central's Kolbe Wallin was the match's medalist with a 38. Jacob Whitney shot 42, Quinn Hawkins had a 44, and Nick Michelson shot 46.

McHenry 164, Huntley 176: At McHenry Country Club, Truman Keppy led the Warriors with a 37 in a win over Huntley.

Liam Nielsen shot a 41, Ian Grubich shot a 40 and Spencer Rudd shot a 46 for McHenry.

For Huntley, Youssef Abbadi and Ben Saiz each shot a 43 to lead the Red Raiders. Jack Wagner and Trevor Book each shot a 45.

Richmond Burton 168, Burlington Central 185: At Nippersink, Connor Lindley led R-B with a 3-over-par 39 in a KRC victory over Burlington Central.

Everett Robinson shot a 41 for R-B. Jackson Bolman shot and Eric Manuel each shot a 44. R-B improves to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the KRC.
