Letter: Kiwanis Santa Run a success

To the Editor:

Talk about everything coming together perfectly. The sixth Kiwanis Santa Run for Kids went off spectacularly!

It is amazing what happens when 75 volunteers show up and share the work for an amazing cause. Our McHenry County nonprofit agencies are in need of funds to keep their missions moving forward. The Santa Run helps fuel their cause. The agencies include Turning Point of McHenry County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois and Main Stay Therapeutic Riding.

This year’s event was noteworthy because after four years of having more than 900 participants, we finally broke that elusive 1,000 barrier with 1,023 participants! Our total raised for the kids over the past six years now is more than $200,000!

Running is not required. Walkers are more than welcome. This is a McHenry County event. This fun-filled family tradition will take place Dec. 2 at the Raue Center for the Arts in downtown Crystal Lake.

A big thank you goes to our North Pole sponsor, Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center.

As a bonus, National Gift Card used the event as a team-building experience and had a fantastic 54 participants.

This is a high-exposure event for you, your company and employees to be a part of.

Join the fun for a great cause! Embrace this celebration with your family and friends.
