A protest of the GOP tax bill planned for noon on the Woodstock Square was canceled because of icy weather conditions and snow Sunday.

Organized by Indivisible Illinois 14 and the McHenry County Democratic Party, the protest was set to run from noon to 2 p.m.

The event was to mark the one-year anniversary of a similar protest, which demanded that President Donald Trump release his tax returns to the public.

The agenda behind the march was to renounce the tax legislation that was voted into law in December.

It was not known Sunday whether the group planned to reschedule the protest.
