To the Editor:
The simple definition of fascism is corporations and the state are intertwined under an authoritarian regime.
Today in America, we are sliding deeper into a fascist state controlled by a handful of sociopathic billionaires, their shills in Congress and an idiot in the White House combined with a handpicked administration Cabinet tasked to undermine and destroy the very agencies they control. Some examples with a long history of Koch connections are easily Googled:
Scott Pruitt, Environmental Protection Agency – Rolling back decades of clean water, air and soil pollution standards while simultaneously bilking taxpayers with personal travel expenses, lavish security details and secret soundproof skiffs that hide his corrupt dealings.
Ryan Zinke, Department of the Interior – Giving away off our public lands for the fossil fuel and fracking exploitation of his lobbyists and Corporate financiers.
Betsy Devos, Department of Education – Selling off our public school systems to have our tax dollars extracted by for profit corporations while replacing science and civics with Christian dogma and Indoctrination.
Mick Mulvaney, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – Instead of protecting consumers from being exploited and defrauded by shady banking and loan practices, he is loosening regulations as in the payday loan industry to allow further exploitation, especially of our poorly paid military personnel.
Wilbur Ross, Secretary of Commerce – Once was the vice president for Cypress Bank, which was sanctioned by the U.S. State Department for money laundering and bank fraud. He also had shady financial dealings with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Steve Mnuchin, Secretary of Treasury – Whose former bank was fined $89 million for his role in defrauding citizens with robo signed foreclosures, which destroyed many American families.
This is a short list of the grifters, con men, frauds and liars, installed into all three branches by the Koch/Mercer cabal. Their objective is to destroy government, the only force capable enough to rein in their obsession with greed and power. Combined with founding, funding and rise to power of Tea Party anti-government extremists at every level 2010, their goal is nearly complete.
If we truly want to drain the swamp of Koch brother fascism, we must begin by removing their Tea Party shills, starting with our own Randy Hultgren.
