Letter: Climate change reality

To the Editor:

It’s amusing to me to read articles and letters about climate change that seem to use the same deceptive communication methods people use when blasting immigration. You see, there is a difference between the earth’s climate changing, going through hot and cold cycles as it has done for eons, and man-made change, which these hysterical alarmists want you to believe is responsible for 100 percent of change.

Just like immigration, where illegal and legal immigration are grouped together to obscure the detrimental illegal immigration consequences, climate change has become a literal cash cow for the connected. The government subsidies to start up green endeavors have made the few very wealthy and have contributed little, if anything, to the stated purposes. People are misled by claims that there is a scientific consensus on the subject.

But common sense tells you that science is not done by vote. Can you imagine anything in the medical fields being called a consensus, or astronomy, or any other serious scientific area done by a vote? The scientists proclaiming this nonsense have been well paid for their opinions, such as a defense witness at a trial.

Here are some actual facts:

• Midway weather heat waves (three or more consecutive 90-degree days) – 1930s, 43; 1980s, 26; 2010s, 29.

• 90-degree days by decade – 1030s, 343; 1980s, 232; 2010s, 186.

These facts do not show a warming trend, do they?
