To the Editor:
It will be nice when someone wins the Queen of Hearts game. Last week, on Aug. 14, 650,000 tickets were sold, and one ticket was drawn, No. 25.
The envelope contained the eight of spades. The lucky winner got $100 out of a pool of millions. Why would it not be nice if the card number drawn was multiplied by 100, or even better, by 1,000?
That hardly would put a dent in the prize pool. Maybe they could use the money to pay their high property taxes or take a nice vacation. After all, more happy small winners is better, than a few huge winners and good PR.
