To the Editor:
The question in your Oct. 26 poll was: “What is the most important issue in the 14th Congressional District race?”
44 percent of your respondents said it is property taxes.
Although this random sample cannot be more broadly applied, when
44 percent of any group of voters believe that property taxes are the result of an act of Congress, it explains a great deal of the “why” in the dysfunction of our governance.
It is so sad that so many know so little about how we have chosen to govern ourselves.
