Lake in the Hills police cite drivers over Super Bowl weekend

The Super Bowl weekend Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket enforcement effort ran from Feb. 1 to 4 and was used to keep impaired drivers off the roads and ensure seat belt compliance.

During this time, 15 hours of extra patrol enforcement were conducted by the Lake in the Hills Police Department through a grant obtained from the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program.

Officers stopped 14 vehicles in connections with violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code. Among the stops, four citations were issued for distracted driving, two drivers were cited for speeding, four drivers were cited for improper lane use, one uninsured motorist was cited and one driver was cited for ignoring a traffic signal.
