McHenry County College students who are pursuing a welding technician certificate can apply for a new scholarship established by General Kinematics of Crystal Lake.

The General Kinematics Welding Scholarship will award $250 to one student pursuing their welding technician certificate during the upcoming fall semester.

This is the first scholarship established to benefit welding students earning credits. To qualify, a student must live in McHenry County and have earned at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The funds can be used for tuition and fees for the semester in which they are awarded.

Applicants must write an essay describing their career, professional and personal goals.

General Kinematics provides vibratory equipment, rotary equipment and process systems to leading manufacturing and material processing organizations across the world.

The scholarship application deadline is April 30. To complete an application, visit www.mchenry.edu/scholarships.
