To the Editor:
I would like to commend the work of two Algonquin Township employees during the recent tax season. I am the local coordinator for AARP’s tax aid program at the township, a program where the elderly and those with lower incomes can have their taxes prepared for free. This program worked as smooth as possible with the tireless efforts of Pam Gavers and Kris Kencharek in the township office.
From late January until mid-April, these women scheduled more than 350 appointments and offered to call the residents each week to remind them of their appointments.
They served me and our other AARP volunteers in numerous ways. We are grateful for such dedicated workers in our township.
