Prairie Grove police announce Fourth of July enforcement results

Prairie Grove police have released the results of its Fourth of July traffic enforcement.

The department, along with 160 other state and local law enforcement agencies, conducted the crackdown to encourage seat-belt use and to get drunken and drugged drivers off the road, according to a news release from Prairie Grove police.

Enforcement dates were June 17 to July 8, and in that time the following citations were issued; one DUI, one car seat violation, 17 uninsured drivers, 13 speeding tickets and 96 other citations, according to the release.

The law enforcement effort was funded by Illinois Department of Transportation through the Federal Traffic Safety funds, as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It of Ticket” programs.
