Police investigating armed robbery at Algonquin gas station

Police are investigating the alleged armed robbery of an Algonquin gas station.

Algonquin police responded about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to a reported robbery at Clark gas station, 1001 S. Main St., Deputy Chief Ryan Markham said.

One employee was working at the time and said that a man dressed in black and wearing a face mask entered the gas station, displayed a gun and took “an undisclosed amount” of cash before fleeing on foot, Markham said. No one was reported injured. Algonquin police conducted a search with the assistance of a Campton Hills K-9 officer but couldn’t find the robber, Markham said.

The investigation is ongoing.
