McHenry County's League of Women Voters sets candidate's forum in Crystal Lake

The League of Women Voters of McHenry County is hosting a candidate's forum on Thursday, Jan. 23, so residents may be able to query candidates on a host of issues.

Voter Service Chairwoman Susan Fugleberg said a meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m. and the forum begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at McHenry County College, 8900 U.S. Route 14, Crystal Lake.

She said they have invited candidates for the 63rd Illinois House district, Democrats Peter Janko of Marengo and Woodstock Mayor Brian Sager, as well as both Democratic and Republican candidates for the 66th Illinois House district. On the Democratic side are Carpentersville Trustee Jim Malone and McHenry County Board member Suzanne Ness of Crystal Lake, and on the Republican side are County Board member Carolyn Schofield of Crystal Lake and incumbent Rep. Allen Skillicorn of East Dundee.

Fugleberg said attendees may submitted written questions for the candidates.

The forum is free and Fugleberg said registration is not required. MCC is a co-sponsor of the forum.
