If you need a laugh — and who doesn’t? — Raue Center for the Arts, in Crystal Lake, is bringing two funnymen to its stage this summer to fulfill that need.
Employing what he's labeled "hard funny," Christopher Titus has released six ninety-minute albums in as many years. His five one-hour comedy specials are currently running on Comedy Central, and his sixth special, Angry Pursuit of Happiness, was on Comedy Central May 9th.
Titus is currently performing his newest one-man show, "Born With a Defect," to sold-out theaters across the country, and you can catch him at Raue Center for the Arts, in Crystal Lake, at 8 pm Friday, June 14. After you’ve watched him perform live, there will be no doubt that Titus is one of the best comics working today. With the complete package of comedy, acting and writing, there hasn't been a performer like him in a long time.
If you’ve ever seen ABC TV’s hit series Full House or Fuller House, you know Dave Coulier. But the famous comedian is much more than his Joey character. He’s performed in movies, numerous television shows and specials, and sell-out shows at colleges, corporate events, casinos, nightclubs, and theaters. Coulier's spot-on stand-up routine is centered on his ability to mimic celebrities and cartoon characters, a talent that has given him a second career in voice acting. Many of Coulier's bits involve putting well-known characters into unexpected situations, and he’s even been known to include harmonica playing in his act. Coulier's material is largely family-friendly, a position he has extended to his youth-oriented comedy website, cleanguys.TV.
Coulier will be sharing his comedic talents at Raue Center at 8 pm Saturday, Aug. 17.
