Let's return to God's word in the realm of politics
To the Editor:
This is a response to the political activist group known as "Republicans for the Rule of Law."
They mailed directly to my home their criticism of my letter of Friday, Jan. 31, entitled, "A Biblical Response to the Democrats." I would like to thank them for their response because they proved what was stated in my letter even though that wasn't their nasty intent.
Because I publicly stated what I believe the Democratic Party is choosing to do and disagree with much of their secular agenda, they responded with hatred and character assassination.
Don't be fooled by them. Don't be angry like them. With every letter I send to our editor, as everyone else does, my name and city is no secret. Yet this group, "Republicans for the Rule of Law," chose not to reply to this newspaper.
If they had they would have exposed themselves to who they really are. Over the years I have supported and voted for both parties.
However, today our nation has moved away from the very biblical principles, including God Himself, that has greatly blessed us. We now have many broken cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Baltimore that have experienced evil leadership.
Do we want to continue on this path? We must call out evil when we see it and defeat it. Evil is much bolder today and has no shame. Let me repeat what I shared in my January letter: The two most often used and effective weapons of evil are the lie and character assassination.
Evil always is against God and His Word. Which ever political party you support, I leave you with this, "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God" ( not by the "electoral college" or by the "popular vote," but by God). Romans 13:1. Let's return to relying on God and His Word.
