Man arrested in Harvard shooting

Lake Delton, Wisconsin, police have arrest a 46-year-old man in connection to a Tuesday night shooting in Harvard.

Frank M. Amato, of the 500 block of West McKinley Street in Harvard, has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery, reckless conduct and attempted murder.

The attempted murder and aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm charges are Class X felonies while the reckless conduct/great bodily harm charge is a Class 4 felony.

Amato is being held in the Sauk County, Wisconsin, jail awaiting extradition.

This came after Harvard police were called to investigate a shooting in the 1100 block of Hayes Street on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the area and, upon arriving at 9:12 p.m., found a 37-year-old laying in the driveway suffering from what is believed to be a gunshot wound to the neck.

A white truck was reported leaving the area, heading south toward McKinley Street following the incident, which remains under investigation.

The Harvard Fire Protection District tended to the gunshot victim, who then was taken to Mercy Harvard Hospital.
