A woman in her 70s from McHenry County was among 73 additional deaths in the state because of COVID-19, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced Tuesday.
The woman is the fourth death because of coronavirus in McHenry County. The McHenry County Department of Health reported the death Monday but gave no further details.
IDPH announced five additional deaths in Lake County. The deaths include a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, a man and woman in their 70s and a woman in her 70s.
IDPH also reported three deaths in Kane County: a man in his 70s, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s.
McHenry County has 165 cases and four deaths as of Tuesday, according to updated numbers released by the McHenry County Department of Health. Kane County has 262 cases and 18 deaths, according to the Kane County Health Department. Lake County has 923 cases and 20 deaths, according to IDPH.

On Tuesday, IDPH announced 1,287 new cases of coronavirus in the state, including 73 additional deaths. There are a total of 13,549 cases, including 380 deaths, in 77 counties in Illinois. 68,732 tests have been performed.
