To the Editor:
According to what I have read, if stimulus money is sent again it will be sent in the form of a “debit card," which means you use that instead of money,
Now we all know and understand that the checks were sent to us to spend and stimulate the economy, right? That’s a given.
However, and there always seems to be one, what about the people who used their money to pay rent to have a place to live, to pay gas and electric bills so they would have power? How about people buying food as grocery prices were skyrocketing? Medical bills, medication etc. ... Will they all take “debit cards?” How about costs for kids etc.
Now they are giving us “debit cards” because we did not stimulate the economy enough for the rich people.Very little came to the people who needed it the most.
Corporations got millions and millions to keep them from having to lay their workers off. They collected the money and laid them off anyway, made sick people go to work or no unemployment if you did not go back to work.
The stimulus money should have gone to the lower income people first. Not the rich or middle class. If your income is $99.000 a year, you don’t need help, you need money management classes.
Vote to benefit you and your family this November. Above all, please be safe.
