To the Editor:
I received a text from the Family Health Partnership Clinic and it was about reminding people to take a break to help us cope better during this time. And, I got to thinking, they need a break too at the clinic. The "they" I refer to is the staff who work so hard to care for so many people.
I know because I am a former clinic patient. I recently saw my doctor, who was the first person who told me about the clinic. When I see her now, I am always reminded of my first visit as an uninsured patient. That was a moment in my life that led to many others that changed my life.
One change through the clinic was I found a new job thanks to Kathy, who led me there. For the first time, I am making a living. I have been trying to pay back everyone's kindness by doing "favors' for the clinic and I am happy to have the opportunity to pay back financially in a small way.
So, I went over to the clinic the other day to bring them a gift that would cover a nice lunch for the frontline staff. I simply asked them to buy pizza or some other comfort food and have a party. Because, after all, they need a break too!
