Letter: Authoritarianism isn't coming

To the Editor:

Bernie Sanders' taped message that was broadcast at the Democratic National Convention was absurd. His message was that if President Trump is re-elected, our country will continue to slide toward authoritarianism.

President Trump has successfully repealed more unnecessary and cumbersome regulations than any other president in recent memory. Conversely, if Joe Biden is elected president, it's only a matter of time before our country's citizens will no longer be able to continue with employer-based health care plans.

If you don't have employer-based health care, you won't have the freedom to pick a market-based private health insurance policy that best meets your own specific needs. Our country will also be forced to drastically alter our economy under the multi-trillion dollar "Green New Deal."

Cows will be banned, and we will no longer be able to eat hamburgers.

The Radical Democratic Socialist Party of America is pure Authoritarianism. As bad as their economic policies might be, the Left's continuing assault on our Second Amendment and First Amendment rights is even more troublesome.

The rioting and looting that continues to occur in many of our major cities is not being caused by the "authoritarianism" of the Federal Government. It is being caused by the irresponsibility of the Democrat Party, which has been running these cities for decades.
