Letter: Against Black Lives Matter movement

To the Editor:

Tell me you saw what happened in Compton (Los Angeles) recently.

A man, likely part of a gang initiation, fires on two police officers sitting in their cruiser. Shot in the jaw, one officer pulls out the other, who was shot in the head, and applies a tunicate as she tries to call for help.

Close by, "citizens" film the shooting, laugh about it, do not call for help, and verbalize that they hope they die (along with some choice expletives).

While the two officers are in the hospital, Black Lives Matter supporters show up to block the entrance to the hospital and call out that they hope they die, along with more expletives.

Along the road this morning, I see a new billboard from "my friends in McHenry County", supporting the BLM movement. I am sorry, but these white sheep are not my friends, as they, by association, are supporting what I just saw on the news (barely covered by CNN and MSNBC) and social media.

Get your heads out of the dark place in your body and realize that the BLM, and associated movements like Antifa (otherwise known as tatted, basement dwelling, white mouth breathers), have hijacked any real movement for justice reform to fit their own agendas.

Defunding the police is plain wrong. Sign the pledge and look for other civil rights organizations that support social justice and who's true goals are not the overthrow of the U.S.
