In 2004, Igneous Biscuit, a renowned, long-running cover band, decided to focus their talents around the most popular material it performed: songs by Pink Floyd. The band transformed itself into Think Floyd USA, and since that time has continued to celebrate the music of one of the greatest bands of all time.
On March 6, 2020, at 8:00 p.m., Raue Center for the Arts will bring Think Floyd to the Raue Center stage. "We're so excited to celebrate the music of Pink Floyd this spring," said Miriam Naponelli, Marketing Director for Raue Center. "Chicago's longest-running Pink Floyd tribute band, Think Floyd, is all set to rock the Raue!"
Think Floyd USA is a high-energy show with something for everyone, from die-hard Pink Floyd fans to those who just enjoy terrific music. "Think Floyd takes inspiration from both the studio recordings and the live performances of Pink Floyd," added Naponelli. "They put on a full-production tribute performance that showcases energetic and phenomenally gifted band members, alongside a mesmerizing light and video show. The cast features nine passionate musicians and vocalists, including several of the founding members who began the journey together back in 2004."
This amazing performance will satisfy those who love major hits like "Wish You Were Here", "Comfortably Numb", and "Another Brick in the Wall", along with fans craving deep cuts like "Astronomy Domine". Think Floyd USA hits the stage with passion and joy, and often performs albums in their entirety.
"When you experience the music of a band like Pink Floyd, you want to celebrate it. You want to be surprised and you want to know that the music is great, that the lights are captivating, and that the overall experience will move your emotions,” said Richard Kuranda, Executive Director of Raue Center. “This Think Floyd concert will do that!"
